A Matter Of Importance - Diary Entry #3

February 28:

(Slender's dairy and POV)

I folded my hands at my waist and waited patiently for the others to arrive. They entered quietly, knowing something was up, and took their usual seats at the table. There was little Sally in her pink nightgown, blood staining it, BEN in his Link costume, the monochrome clown Laughing Jack, Eyeless Jack in his black hoodie and black stained blue mask, Masky and Hoody, Jeff The Killer and his dog, Smile. Lost Silver and BOB came in last. There were sometimes more of them here than these, but then again Sally, BEN, Laughing Jack, Eyeless Jack, Masky, Hoody, Jeff, Smile, Lost Silver and BOB were usually always here. Little Girl was also here, but she never killed anyone and didn't really have much to say at this kind of meeting. Trenderman and Splendorman came in after the others, taking the last chairs.

I cleared my throat and all attention snapped to me. "Everyone, as you are aware, I have something important to talk to you about. I would like you all to be calm and -"
"Yeah, yeah, just tell us already Slender!" Jeff snapped angrily, running his fingers over the blade of his knife.
I sighed, so typical of Jeffery. "Jeffery, please, be calm, what I am about to say may shock some of you." I 'glanced' around and noticed that everyone seemed to want this over and done with, very well then. " Fine. I heard a report that a teenage girl was caught in an accident involving toxic fumes and that the fumes dissolved her eyes." I held a hand up stiffly when some of the others started to talk. "Silence!" They went quiet. "This girl has been reported to act quite oddly, as if she does not know her eyes are missing, the nurses say she could walk about without bumping into anything, as if she could still see. Now, I figured this may shock some of you as this has not happened to anyone but Jack and Jane, especially not to a mortal." I stopped to let them get this into their heads.
Jeff's jaw dropped. Sally's eyes widened at the word 'girl'. Laughing Jack burst out laughing. Lost Silver just stared. BEN paused his game and gawped. Masky and Hoody looked at each other. Eyeless Jack tilted his head. BOB didn't seem to know what to do. Smile wagged his tail for a moment then stopped. Trender scratched the side of his head. Splendor clapped his hands then went still when Jeff jabbed him in the side with the hilt of his knife.

I cleared my throat again. "I visited the girl once she was released from hospital, she can indeed see without her eyes. The reason I gathered you all here today is because I would like a vote on whether or not we should bring her in, make her one of us. So, without further ado, let the vote begin. If you are in favour, say Aye, if not, say Nay."

The majority voted Aye, Eyeless Jack was one of those who yelled Aye, which was interesting. Maybe he felt kinship for this girl whom had suffered the loss of her eyes yet could still see the world around her. How scared the child must be, I mused to myself.

"It is decided. The girl shall come and stay with us, though she must pass a few tests first, to make sure she is the right kind of person to stay here."

Jeff would have narrowed his eyes if he could. "What kind of test will she be taking?"
I turned my head to Jeff and tilted it slightly. "She will be observed and if she has sharp enough eyes to see us, she will join us here."
