Photographs Of Me - Diary Entry #1

February 15:

It was yet another ordinary day here at my home, though today I was all on my own except for the dog, Rebel. I was bored though, yes that was ordinary too. I decided to look through some old photo books of me when I was little. After flicking through them for an hour or so I decided to go for a walk up the Neston Woods.

The woods were quiet and pleasantly cool, the rain had long since stopped, though I had brought my water proof just in case it started up again. I reached the large rocky clearing where the entrance to the Neston Mines were located and began scrabbling over the rocks. I knew I wasn't supposed to go right to the door, but I was allowed to go as close as the ledge which sloped down towards the two iron doors, chained shut for the protection of dogs and their walkers as well as to stop idiotic kids from going inside. A strange vibrating noise reverberated through the air. My blue eyes widened and I leapt back, just as the twin metal doors of the mines were forced open and ripped off their rusted hinges by and explosion. A gust of foul smelling air washed over me and I began to hack and cough, choking on what I presumed to be poisonous air. My nails sunk into the muck as I began to crawl away, trying to get to fresh air.

My arms and legs burned like hellfire after hauling myself up a steep incline, but the air was fresher here. My vision swam and I soon passed out, the world fading into a black dimension known as unconsciousness.
